With the ever-increasing globalisation of the wine industry, we, like you, could be forgiven for thinking we were all just pawns in the big wine company game. The release of the Pawn is a manifestation of our resolve to amend this situation by releasing wines hand crafted from small parcels of premium fruit from our amazing growers in the Adelaide Hills.
This wine has a delicate bouquet of blossom & citrus with hints of ripe yellow apple & white pepper. Flavours of peach, white nectarine & spice compliment a slightly textural wine with tightly woven acidity & a dry, refreshing mineral finish.

With its ‘pop rock’ acidity and peppery edge, it is a must with anything Asian, and can definitely handle some food with spice and chilli.

The Pawn is the wine label of Tom Keelan as you might have guessed, the focus is mainly on alternative varieties and this Adelaide Hills take on the aromatic Austrian grape Gruner Veltliner sings with all the silvery tone of a diva soprano. It offers both refreshment and textural interest with orange blossom fragrance, apple and pear notes and hints of white spice. There is brisk minerality and some assertive acid.
